An active mindset allows you create your own opportunities. I have a client who needed research done but, was in another state. They did not proceed to hire me. When an opportunity came about that I would be traveling to the state in question, I reconnected with the client. (I am sure it was dealing with a travel expenditure they worried about) I told them I would be traveling for another reason but, knew I had time to help them out. They contacted me and we are moving forward with their project. If I was being of a passive mindset, I would left the email alone not have stepped out to reconnect.

There are many people who are on autopilot throughout the day. Coasting from one project to another. Time lost in social media. The next thing you realize is that several hours has passed by you.

I worked as an art director in printing and I awlays appreciated the more inquisitive client who asks about the printing process. It is not all smoke and mirrors.

Great article and it‘s not long enough.
